    What is Orientation & Mobility?

    Orientation and Mobility (O&M) refers to a set of services that enable individuals with visual impairments or blindness to navigate their environment safely and independently. O&M training focuses on teaching essential skills such as spatial awareness, navigation techniques, and the use of assistive devices like white canes or guide dogs.

    Who Can Benefit from O&M Training?

    Our O&M unit serves children, adults, and seniors with varying degrees of vision loss, as well as individuals with other disabilities that may impact their mobility. Whether someone has been recently diagnosed with a visual impairment or has lived with it for years, O&M can significantly enhance their independence.

    Personalized O&M training sessions based on each individual’s unique needs. Certified O&M specialists work closely with clients to assess their abilities and develop a customized program. Training may include:
